The Baardia National Park is the largest and most undisturbed protected area in the terai and is home to the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger and Nepal's famous one horned rhinoceros. Covering the 968 sq km area, Bardia is the largest National park in Terai.

Fishing in Bardia National park
Bardia National park also provide ground for anglers. The national park provides liscence for 'Himalayan Mahseer' fishing.
Flora and Fauna
The area is covered extensively with sal (Shorea robusta) forest, and grassland and riverine forests. Importatnt wildlife includes tiger, elephant, rhinoceros, and five species of deer. Small population of two crocodile species and some resident Gangetic dolphin are foound in the Karnali River. The park hosts 30 different mammals and more than 250 species of birds.

Accommodation
There are two types of accommodation available in Bardia. While there are 7 Hotel / Lodges outside the park, only one is inside the park.

Transportation
The best way to reach the park is via Nepaljung. Nepaljung is connected by air and by road with Kathmandu. From Nepaljung you have to drive 2 hrs to the National Park.
